Jesus, Mary & Joseph Marriage Institute

​The JMJ Marriage Institute, an initiative of the Ghana Christian Family Foundation (GCFF), is a faith-based formation program dedicated to preparing, enriching, and accompanying couples as they respond to God’s call to marriage. Rooted in Christ’s love and inspired by the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, the Institute exists to help couples build strong, enduring marriages that transform families and communities.

Through a carefully structured, multi-year journey, the Institute offers remote preparation, immediate marriage preparation, and ongoing enrichment, ensuring that couples are supported before, during, and after marriage. The program blends sound Christian teaching with practical human formation, addressing the spiritual, emotional, legal, medical, and financial dimensions of married life.

The cornerstone of the Institute is its Summer Institute and cohort-based formation model, which brings couples together for in-person weekend experiences, monthly online meetings, and annual retreats. Couples journey in small teams, fostering accountability, friendship, and mutual support. Formation is led by a diverse team of resource persons, including counselors, family therapists, spiritual directors, canon and civil lawyers, medical practitioners, financial advisors, and experienced married couples who witness to the realities of lifelong commitment.

The JMJ Marriage Institute promotes a family-centered vision, integrating conferences, retreats, and summer camps for children and youth. In this way, the Institute also seeks to nurture the next generation within healthy, faith-filled families. By accompanying couples over time rather than offering one-time preparation, the JMJ Marriage Institute embodies GCFF’s mission of transforming families through Christ’s love, one marriage at a time.
